In this quick and easy tutorial we show you how to download the pictures and videos from your iOS device to your computer without using any 3rd party software.
How to back-up the pictures and video from your iPhone and iPad.
This process will work on any Windows Operating system(XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1)
Step 1 – Plugging your phone into the computer
Grab the charging cable for your phone and find an available USB port on your computer to plug the charging cable into.
Then plug your phone in with the charging cable.
Your computer will recognize a new device and begin installing the drivers.
Step 2 – Finding your pictures and videos
Simply click on the Start Menu then Click on the Computer icon(or My Computer)
This will take you to a screen with available drives.
In this area you should see – iPhone, iPad, or iPod – this of course depends on the type of device that you have plugged in. Double click on this icon that you see.
Once you’ve clicked on this icon you should see Internal Storage shown. Double click on this icon and then you should see a folder called DCIM, once again double click on this folder and from there you should see all of your pictures.
Step 3 – Copying your pictures and videos
Once you are inside the DCIM folder you can begin to copy all of your photos and pictures and begin to move them over to your computer or external device.
Simply highlight the pictures you want or to highlight all pictures select one and then hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and press the A key(CTRL+A) this will highlight everything in this folder. You can then either right-click with your mouse on one of the highlighted pictures and select copy or you can drag and drop these to your computer or external device.
If you’ve chosen to copy them, you can then go the the location you would like these pictures to be saved to and right-click in an empty area and select paste. This will begin to copy everything from your iOS device to the computer.
