PowerShell 3.0 has a ton of new cmdlets and features that allows you to be way more productive while writing functions, modules, and scripts.
ISE has intellisense which helps you find the cmdlets available to quickly write your scripts.
Being a Systems Administrator, I use PowerShell to perform routine tasks on a daily basis.

I use Powershell a lot in my daily activities while working at a hospital. We use it to monitor everything from SFTP file transfers, to technician’s locations based on their phones within the establishment.
Without Powershell, a lot of automation would not be occurring and we would be required to spend a lot more time manually monitoring things.
