How to remotely restart another computer within a domain network (will not work in a workgroup)
Note: You have to be a domain administrator on the network.
Remotely shutdown a Windows computer
[powershell]shutdown /m \\COMPUTERNAME /r /t 2[/powershell]
Remember, you have to be a member of a domain network, and the user account that is issuing the remote shutdown commands has to have to be a member of the domain admins group.
The majority of the problems people have been having is permission issues, either due to it not being a domain environment, or they do not have domain admin rights.
You can’t remotely manage a computer unless you have full admin rights to it.
