What is the best VM (Virtual Machine) software for Mac OS X?
Since I haven’t been keeping up with the ever changing tech world, I wanted to ask you all what your opinion is for the best virtual machine software that will run on my Mac OS X operating system. Plans to host a wide range of operating systems such as Windows (server and desktop versions), Linux, and Mac OS X.
There are three different ones I am considering right off the bat (well, technically 4):
- Virtualbox (free)
- Parallels ($79.99)
- VMWare Fusion ($69.99)
- VMWare Fusion Pro ($149.99)
Quickly viewing some of the specs of each one, I think I might have eliminated #3 (VMWare Fusion) from the list due to possibly not supporting linked clones (check out a video I did regarding linked clones).
Also note, take the price out of the equation since I don’t have a problem spending money for something that is going to work well for me and you.
So, my question to you all is: What do you recommend I use?
